Bush cabins, animals and hidden surprises

Twenty kilometres east of Windhoek, Moonraker combines timber bungalows, roaming animals, a pool, library, restaurant, bush bar and open reserve in a stay that feels warm, personal and wonderfully unforced.

Farm life at Moonraker

Our Story

Created by two families, shaped by the farm and the mountains

Moonraker sits on Finkenstein Farm at the foot of the scenic Auas Mountains, between Windhoek and Hosea Kutako International Airport.

In 2018, the Goldbeck and Finke families brought together their energy, humour and love for the land to create a place where people, animals and nature could settle into the same easy rhythm. That beginning still shapes the mood today: Moonraker feels personal, family-shaped and full of character.

The landscape is inseparable from the story. Two thousand hectares on Finkenstein Farm have been set aside as a private reserve, giving guests space for quiet mornings, mountain light, walks into the bush and long views across the Auas landscape. The stay itself blends comfortable en-suite bungalows, complimentary WiFi, a pool, a library, restaurant dining and a bush bar with that wider sense of reserve and farm life.

What stays with most guests is the atmosphere. Cats may appear near your room or join you at breakfast, goats and pigs may wander past the terrace, and with a bit of luck you may glimpse the wilder life of the reserve as well. Old artifacts, painted sayings and unexpected objects are tucked across the property. The British telephone box is only the beginning.

Moonraker is also a place for slower pleasures: curling up with a book on the veranda, watching the African sunset, sharing stories around the campfire and listening to the night settle in under a clear Namibian sky.
