The responsible classification society, surveyor and vessel team determine the applicable survey requirements and decisions. A software record does not replace those responsibilities. What should the technical team evaluate?

Choose a representative inspection and an item from the vessel equipment register. Ask the team to show how survey readiness, an inspection finding and the subsequent follow-up are represented. Check that the relevant equipment can be identified and that the next shift can understand the outstanding work.

Then review how your proposed process relates to planned maintenance and the wider engine and technical system. Agree which records, attachments, due-date workflows and exports your deployment requires; do not assume a specific class-society integration is included.
